ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross / Northwest Region

What You'll Be Doing:

The Foundations service learning student will have two main projects throughout their nine week program. They will work on researching potential grants that the Northwest Region development team can pursue as well as work on writing grant proposal drafts. On top of these two main projects the Foundations student will attend the meetings that pertain to foundations and participate in calls that occur around the region within the development team for internal foundations updates.

What You'll Learn:

The Foundations summer service learning position will gain knowledge, skills, and competencies in organizational structures, typical procedures, and industry expectations through their experience working within the American Red Cross as well as through their two main projects. The Foundations service learning student will gain skills in collaboration, interpersonal public communication within their attendance and participation in meetings that pertain to foundations. They will gain research/analytical skills through their work on discovering new grants to pursue. They will fine tune their grant writing skills as they draft proposals to grants the region would like to apply for.
