Offsite Events Volunteers perform a critical job for the shelter. By helping with events, volunteers increase each pet's chances of finding their loving home, raise awareness for the shelter's work and programs and receive generous donations from community members. Volunteers in this position help prepare for events, load and unload animals and supplies, counsel animal adoptions and assist the Events Coordinator.

Description
Southern Pines Animal Sheler, founded in 1952, is the largest open admission shelter to reach no-kill status in the state of Mississippi. Located in Hattiesburg, MS, it's been our mission for 66 years to welcome dogs and cats with open arms regardless of health, age, or perceived adoptability. In 2017 alone, we connected more than 6,650 homeless, abandoned, and neglected pets with loving families.
In order to continue this life-saving work, we must rely on the support of our adopters, volunteers, fosters, and donors. Without the generosity and support of people like you, this amazing work would not be possible. Only together can we continue to make a difference for the animals in our community.
