On Saturday, August 4, AARP Foundation will be in Chicago to host our Summer of Service to Seniorsâ„  Meal Pack Challenge at the Wintrust Arena. This event will rally thousands of volunteers to pack a million meals for distribution to struggling seniors in the Chicago area. We need your support.

In the Chicago area, too many hardworking older adults are in need. Through no fault of their own they struggle daily against poverty - living in unaffordable, inadequate housing, suffering from social isolation and food insecurity, and desperately striving to stretch every penny to make ends meet.

On behalf of AARP Foundation, the charitable affiliate of AARP, I invite you to join us in this special effort. The Meal Pack Challenge is an excellent team-building opportunity, as well as a chance to come together to give back to the community and help struggling older neighbors. We are asking volunteers to give us about two hours, during which time each volunteer can help pack 166 meals! Group registration is welcome and encouraged.

Sign-up by going to www.mealpackchallenge.org and select Chicago.

For more information on joining the Summer of Service to Seniors Chicago Meal Pack Challenge, please contact Jennifer OGrady at jogrady@aarp.org or visit mealpackchallenge.org to register and learn more.
