ORGANIZATION: NAMI San Fernando Valley

NAMI SFV

Are you enthusiastic about working with young people and their families? Are you a natural teacher and mentor? We’re looking for a volunteer Youth Programs Director to manage our successful youth programming in the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley. We go into schools and help educate students, teacher, faculty, and parents on the signs, symptoms, and available treatments for mental illness while telling personal stories of how help and treatment improved our lives. By doing so, we seek to eliminate the myths, fear, and stigma around mental illness and change the conversation to getting help and living mentally healthy lives.

The Youth Programs Director will:

  • Manage and implement our Ending the Silence, Parents & Teachers as Allies, and NAMI on Campus programs
  • Coordinate and schedule presentations and volunteer presenters
  • Support and guide the presenters who deliver this valuable information
