Did you have a significant male role model while you were growing up? Have you been that role model for someone in your community? Youth in foster care need that same mentorship in addition to advocacy as they navigate their place in the dependency process. Advocate for a child in foster care. Be a CASA.
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is an everyday citizen appointed by a judge to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes. No prior experience is necessary. We provide all the training you’ll need, along with a team to support you on your case. Your role will be to gather information from reports, social workers, doctors, family members and other professionals in the child's life. With the information you collect, you’ll represent the child’s best interest in court. A child with a CASA is more likely to receive targeted services and spend less time in out of home care.

Mission Statement
CASA of Maricopa County’s mission is to ensure that the best interests of an abused or neglected child are represented in court, so no child falls through the cracks. The program trains and empowers community volunteers to serve at the request of Maricopa County Juvenile Court Judges as advocates for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by their parents.

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program is the only agency authorized to advocate for the best interests of child victims in Arizona. CASA volunteers hold to the belief that there are no hopeless children, only children who have yet to experience hope.
Who Becomes a CASA Volunteer?
CASA volunteers are everyday people just like you. They are realtors, school principals, pilots, web designers, plumbers, small business owners, retirees and stay-at-home moms and dads and vary in age from 21 to 83.
No special skills or degrees are required, only the desire to make a difference in an abused child's life. You must be at least 21 years of age, participate in our comprehensive screening process and training program, and make a 15-20 hour monthly commitment in order to ensure stability for the children we serve.
The only special background you should have is the heart to care for the most vulnerable children in our community, and the determination to do something about their current situation.
