Bread for the City (breadforthecity.org/volunteer) is looking for bilingual volunteers (both Spanish and English fluent) to help some of Bread for the City's staff to improve upon existing, limited Spanish language speaking skills. Right now, we're thinking about the following: * Volunteers would come in around lunchtime (exact time TBD) to lead an informal learning conversation with BFC staff about a specific topic (colors, vacations, work, etc.) to give people conversational practice in that sphere. * The volunteer would offer corrections, interpretations, and help keep the conversation moving. You might come in with a few specific questions, for example: "Today, let's talk about colors. What is your favorite color? What colors are in fashion this year?" or "Today, let's talk about vacations. Do you prefer city or country vacations? The beach or the mountains? Museums or hiking?" The overall goal is Spanish conversational practice around one area each lunch meeting. If you're interested in this volunteer opportunity, please respond with the following information: * How frequently can you volunteer? (Once a week, one a month, every other month, etc.) * What term of service can you commit to right now (June - August, July only, just one time, etc.) * What days and times are you typically free during the work week? * Are you able and willing to travel to Bread for the City's Southeast Center (1640 Good Hope Road SE)? The nearest metro is Anacostia on the green line. The B2, V2, or W6 bus can leave the center and drop you off at the metro in about 7 minutes. You can also walk to the center in about 17 minutes.

We appreciate your consideration and hope to hear from you! Contact us at https://breadforthecity.org/volunteerinterest/ to let us know you'd like to serve!
