Brighton Main Streets (brightonmainstreets.org) seeks an outgoing, energetic volunteer to assist the Executive Director and Board with community outreach and engagement. This volunteer will play a critical role in BMS’s mission to support and enhance our commercial district and residential neighborhoods through their work connecting with small business owners and residents to promote skill-building workshops, neighborhood plantings and cleanups, and cultural programming. The Outreach/ Community Engagement volunteer will spend approximately 1.5 hours per week based in the BMS main office (located at 358 Washington Street in Brighton Center) and will work closely with the Executive Director and other volunteers to create and distribute promotional flyers and pamphlets; provide in-person/ door-to-door outreach to small business owners; and engage with residents through community postings and other strategies. Bi-lingual English/ Spanish or English/ Chinese preferred but not necessary. This role will involve walking and standing for extended periods of time, and lifting boxes up to 25 lbs.
