Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Canada’s largest food Festival, Taste of the Danforth! You are not only helping the Festival but also helping others. Below, you’ll find some information on the event along with the dates for an informative volunteer night meeting. Please remember to RSVP for one of the dates as it is mandatory for all volunteers to know what’s happening at the event, including how some of the activations work. Proceeds from the Festival go to charities such as the Michael Garron, SickKids, kid’s soccer clubs, and homes for the aged.
Shifts:
Friday: 11am to 5pm and 4pm to 10pm
Saturday: 11am to 5pm and 4pm to 10pm
Sunday: 11am to 5pm and 4pm to 11pm
Volunteer night: only need to attend one.
Aug 1, 2018: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Aug 3, 2018: 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Responsibilities
- Greet attendees
- Co-run promotional booths for various upcoming movies and other activities
- Assist in set-ups and takedowns of various booths/stations
- Assist staff where needed
- Distribute brochures in various locations throughout the Festival and surrounding area

Canada’s favourite Festival is back! Come join us as we celebrate the 24th anniversary of Canada’s largest street Festival (approximately 1.65 million attendees) as well as Canada & Ontario’s 150th birthday on Friday August 11th, Saturday August 10th, and Sunday August 12th. To top it off, the Festival is all about the spirit of giving back - Constantine Voidonicolas, Chair of the Greektown Danforth BIA, confirmed that once again all proceeds from the Festival go to supporting a number of charities.
Description
The Taste of the Danforth 2018 is just around the corner, occurring from August 10-12th and we’re currently recruiting for volunteers. The Taste of the Danforth is an annual not-for-profit street Festival that celebrates Greek culture specifically in addition to all cultures alike. With all the proceeds going to the Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto East General Hospital Foundation, and Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital, this Festival would not be possible without its dedicated volunteers.
