We are seeking compassionate volunteers who can provide oral interpretation and document translation related in family and immigration court cases involving Haitian survivors of gender-based violence, human trafficking and sexual assault. Volunteers need to submit to a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement. The Center for Safety and Change is an anti-oppression organization that is committed to serving clients with the utmost of care and respect, and that seeks to develop staff and volunteers with warmth and enthusiasm.

The mission of the Center for Safety & Change is to develop strategies to end gender-based violence and provide shelter and supportive services that empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and other crimes.
Description
The Center for Safety and Change is Rockland County's domestic violence, rape crisis and human traffficking agency. The agency offers shelter, counseling, support groups, court advocacy, rape crisis and legal services to survivors. The Center also does prevention and education work in schools and at college campuses.
