Are you located in Sarasota or Manatee County, FL? Are you looking to get involved in research and educational opportunities concerning coastal lighting and sea turtles? Are you free 2-4 days a month May 1 - Oct. 31? If so, you might be a good fit for a new program launching on Longboat Key this Sea Turtle Season!
Volunteers will have the opportunity to be trained in lighting surveys and conduct them through Sea Turtle Season. Conducting these surveys will contribute to data that we provide to properties to help them reduce their impact on native wildlife.
Volunteers will also be trained in education and outreach to be knowledgeable in topics concerning, but not limited to: coastal lighting, general sea turtle biology and behavior, town / county ordinances, lighting modifications, ect...
Positions open for lighting surveys, education, and data entry.
Skills for each position are translatable to many other careers!
