Mitsy Kit is growing quickly and in need of assistance to help document our standard operating procedures and general business operational best practices. This is great opportunity for a student interested in business administration / management and or business process improvement, to get hands on experience and references for your work. In this role you will observe and interview those performing our standard business processes and help to organize and document the information to be used to train volunteers and new hires.

In this opportunity you will learn about the challenges and opportunities of a start up organization, meet amazing new people, and be helping those who are elderly, blind, memory impaired, and others who are challenged by physical and cognitive impairments.

Please contact me directly to learn more information, or to discuss your potential fit for this opportunity.

About Mitsy Kit Inc.

Location:

179 Hildreth Street, Lowell, MA 01850, US

Mission Statement

We help to connect lives and create memories with accessible, quality craft activities.

Description

Mitsy kit was initially developed to help the blind and visually impaired to find joy and purpose through the activity of sewing and quilting by touch, using our patented tactile sewing system and method of use. We soon realized that many others, in addition to the blind, benefited from our kits to re-engage in meaningful activities. This prompted provision of our kits and services to support a broader community including those with memory impairment, autism, aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and other seniors and children with or without physical or cognitive disability.

Organizations served include Centers for the blind and low vision, Senior Centers and Council On Aging, Nursing Homes and Assisted Living, and Dementia residential care facilities, as well as activity programs for the disabled.

Although our current products are sewing and quilting focused, we are committed in the long term to designing new kits to meet the needs of the diverse population we serve.
