Adoption Matchmakers are basically the 'cat’s meow’ around here and play an essential role in the adoption process. J VolunTERRIERs who work the adoption floor help greet visitors, introduce them to the animals at the shelter, answer questions about pets on the adoption floor, and assist with meet n’ greets. Adoption matchmakers also attend on & off-site adoption events. These super helpful volunteers get a lot of one-on-one time with animals and people, so if you like both humans & furry friends, this volunteer job is for you.

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - shifts are 12:00 - 2:30 and 2:30 - 5:00
Wednesday - shifts are 1:00 - 3:30 and 3:30 - 6:00
Saturday - shift is 12:00 - 3:00

Off-Site Adoption Events occur on a rolling basis; advance sign-up will be given.

Adoption Matchmaker positions require a minimum of 4 shifts a month.

Description

The Lenawee Humane Society (LHS) is a private, non-profit, tax exempt organization, dedicated to caring for unwanted animals and providing them with necessary medical treatment, food and shelter until we can find them a new home. Founded in 1921, the Lenawee Humane Society is incorporated by the State of Michigan but receives no government support. The Lenawee Humane Society is supported solely by donations and membership dues. As a Society, we believe that all life should be revered and that all living creatures should be treated with kindness and respect.
