Every Tuesday through July, the landscape team at Detroit Zoo invites groups from the community of 8-20 people to assist in beautifying the zoo. Projects include weeding, planting, laying mulch and other light gardening work.

The mission of the Detroit Zoological Society's Volunteer Services department is to provide a dedicated, trained volunteer corps of people who bring unique skills, love of nature and concern for the environment. Through meaningful educational activities, dialog and special events, the volunteers help advocate the Zoological Society's mission: "Celebrating and Saving Wildlife."
Description
The Detroit Zoological Society is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that operates the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Situated on 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits, the Detroit Zoo is located at the intersection of 10 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, just off I-696, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
