Rescue Ranger Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for a variety of functions including assisting the head teacher and overseeing group lessons and activities, supervising and mentoring children, caring for and handling a variety of animals, and assisting with the day-to-day management and planning of camp.

The Lenawee Humane Society offers a one weeklong summer day camp program for kids ages 8 -11. Children learn about pet care, animal welfare issues, and about being animal ambassadors through games, lessons and activities, guest speakers, field trips and hands-on time spent with animals. Our camp programs foster a sense of compassion, responsibility, safety and respect for animals through experience-based learning.

Description

The Lenawee Humane Society (LHS) is a private, non-profit, tax exempt organization, dedicated to caring for unwanted animals and providing them with necessary medical treatment, food and shelter until we can find them a new home. Founded in 1921, the Lenawee Humane Society is incorporated by the State of Michigan but receives no government support. The Lenawee Humane Society is supported solely by donations and membership dues. As a Society, we believe that all life should be revered and that all living creatures should be treated with kindness and respect.
