DESCRIPTION

What: Edu-Futuro is looking for enthusiastic individuals to be judges for our Second Annual Robotics Competition!

Where: Mott Community Center ( 12111 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030)

When: Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 from 10:30AM to 2:00PM.

Duties: Judges will be paired with one other judge. Each pair is responsible for assessing one of the four distinct areas of the competition:

  • Robotic challenges
  • Programming
  • Team building
  • Research

Requirements

  • Anyone who is interested in STEM and volunteering with middle school youth
  • Someone who is looking to have a great time while giving back to the community
  • Knowledge about EV3 Lego robots is a plus, but not required

Additional Information: A detailed packet of responsibilities and a rubric will be emailed to judges prior to the competition date. Judges will also receive additional training the day of the competition from 11AM to 12PM to help them understand the challenges they are evaluating!

Description

Edu-Futuro is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by Bolivian parents and educators to address the educational needs of the growing Latino population. We offer programs that empower immigrant families through education. We offer: the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) which is a youth leadership and college preparation program, 9-12 Grades; STEM/Robotics, upper elementary, middle school, and high school (4-12); as well as parent and family programs. And we welcome volunteers in all our programs!
