Goal: To ensure programs are supported by research (evidence-based), are regularly evaluated (accurately and effectively tracked), and through grant research and writing for at least 200 low-income people in St. Louis.
Research
- Develop an understanding of all Mission: St. Louis programming to inform research and writing efforts.
- Utilize grant research methods and databases to identify potential funding sources. Use this research to prioritize at least 15 potential funding opportunities throughout the year.
- Write a brief summary of identified opportunities to present to supervisor and program leaders to determine next steps.
Writing
- Communicate as appropriate with funder to obtain application materials, review application and identify necessary attachments to ensure they are obtainable by proposal deadline.
- If we previously applied to the funder, review their file.
- Conduct necessary research to ensure needed statements and program successes are up to date.
- Draft the proposal with feedback from supervisor and program staff.
- Track all grant proposals in 2018 Grant Plan and upload all documents to Dropbox folder.
Reports
- Read grant contracts and note any regulations to follow on Grant Plan: reporting deadlines, promotional requirements, and program outcomes. Ensure program staff is informed of grant requirements.
- Work with supervisor and program staff to develop reports on awarded grants on a timely basis.

Mission Statement
Mission: St. Louis' mission is to empower people to transform their lives, families and neighborhoods. We are committed to transforming the city of St. Louis by connecting individuals/groups to communities in need through education, empowerment, and economic development.
Description
Education
Mission: St. Louis believes education is the primary imperative in the empowerment and development of both individuals and communities. Through education, we can work along side individuals to inspire and develop indigenous leadership.
Empowerment
Mission: St. Louis seeks to empower people to grow and develop in all aspects of their lives. Empowerment means engaging people as equals, not as dependents of charity. To do this, we enter into dynamic interpersonal relationships based on mutual respect, trust, integrity, grace and compassion. Through empowerment, we are able to work together in achieving personal and community pride based on a regenerated sense of worth.
Development
Mission: St. Louis desires to develop people and communities holistically through economic and spiritual development. Lasting, authentic change only happens from the inside out. This means that we must work to bring about long-term change in both economic and spiritual spheres. We believe this can only come from building trust through authentic relationships.
