Mentor 2.0 matches high school students from Atlas Preparatory School with college-educated mentors in the Colorado Springs community, providing the students with support and guidance through their high school career to prepare them for the future.

The majority of the mentorship is conducted over a secure online platform (iMentor), as a "pen pal mentorship" - exchanging messages discussing curricular assignments and life in general. This allows for busy professionals to flex their time-investment around their schedules.

In addition, there are monthly events for in-person mentoring hosted at Atlas Preparatory School and facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters. This program is a great opportunity for businesses and companies who want their employees to volunteer and invest in the community. Your team can leave work together and attend the events together - volunteering together.

Volunteers must be 21 years of age and have some form of post-secondary education, training or certification.

Volunteers must also be able to pass a background check.

We are seeking people who can commit to the program for four years. We want to match students with mentors from freshman year through graduation. Many of these students need an example of consistency and commitment in their life. Also, it takes time to build a relationship with a teen. However, you can certainly make a meaningful and significant impact on a student's life.

This program is our biggest need for volunteers. We need to recruit 130 volunteers over the next three to four months to be mentors to the upcoming freshman class. Please consider volunteering! Also, please spread the word! We'd appreciate any and all help with recruitment.
