Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson is proud to have completed another successful Mentor2.0 school year. Recruitment is now open to mentors for the 2018-2019 school year. Mentor2.0 is the perfect opportunity for busy Tucsonans to support youth in our great community.
Mentor2.0 maintains the fundamentals of quality mentoring Big Brothers Big Sisters is known for through 1-to-1 relationships, providing professional relationship support and maintaining a focus on safety for the benefit of the mentee and mentor. Mentor2.0 expands this by using technology for much of the interaction between the mentee and mentor, reducing the in-person time commitment to once every month, and supporting the customized curriculum guide throughout the match interaction.
Students will work with their mentors in‐person and online to develop strong personal relationships; aspire to attend college; navigate the college experience, and build the necessary skills that lead to college success.
Mentors and mentees meet once a month in‐person at group events facilitated by Big Brothers Big Sisters, and email once a week on a secure web‐based platform through guided prompts about everyday life. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides coaching and resources along the way.
