At Compassus Palliative and Hospice Care, our goal is to create a volunteer opportunity that utilizes your skills, talents, and interests while supporting our patients. It is a win for all! As a hospice volunteer, you are part of a professional team that supports people with life-limiting illness and diagnosed with six months or less to live. How that looks will depend on your skills/interests/professional licenses and patient needs. We are looking for: Companion Volunteers to make patient visits; Individuals trained in Healing Touch, Reiki or Massage; Volunteers to visit with their pets; Respite support for caregivers; Office support. See individual postings on VolunteerMatch for more information. Compassus is a community-based hospice - traveling to skilled nursing facilities and private homes across METRO DENVER. Assignments are close to home or work. Hours are flexible, based on your availability. Average is 2-3 hours per week, including travel time. Core training is provided for new volunteers to ensure appropriate skills and to support volunteer confidence. Whether you have had a personal experience with hospice, feel a calling, want to add special skills to your resume, or want to add greater meaning to your life ...we would love to hear from you! Ensuring patients receive compassionate, end-of-life care that honors the spirit within is our priority at Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care. Above all else, we believe that hospice is about inspiring life...it's about enabling people to live their last months to the fullest until the very last day. We are motivated by a deep commitment to providing quality of life through dignity, comfort and peace. Our goal is to empower our patients to live as fully and comfortably as possible, while offering support and guidance to the grieving.
Hospice is a philosophy of care - not a place. At Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care, we deliver our care services wherever our patients call home, whether that home is a private home, an apartment, an assisted living community, a skilled nursing center or, in some cases, a hospital.
