ABOUT US
At Pajama Program, we believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the right to a loving good night. Since we can't be with every child at bedtime, Pajama Program Reading Centers are how we reach more children -- giving us additional opportunities to show unconditional love and help children feel appreciated, supported, and cared for.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Our Reading Parties begin with circle time introductions and continue with reading in pairs (1 child to 1 adult) or small groups. During the Reading Party, the children receive a snack, a new pair of pajamas and a new storybook of their choice. The children range in ages from 4-12 years old. Reading Parties last about an hour and run throughout the entire year.

Mission Statement
At Pajama Program, we promote a comforting bedtime routine for children affected by instability to help them thrive. At the Atlanta Reading Center, our programming focuses on shared reading between a child and an adult volunteer. The shared reading experience is aimed to give children a sense of comfort and belonging, so that they feel better prepared for a good night’s rest. We believe that every child has the right to a loving good night, complete with the comforting bedtime ritual of changing into new, clean pajamas and enjoying an enchanting story. Therefore, all of our Reading Center programming is complete with the magical gifts of new pajamas and storybooks to each child that attends a shared reading experience. The children who attend our programming are between the ages of 4 and 18 and visit us from local Community Partners including shelters, Pre-kindergarten/Head Start programs, group homes, Title I schools, and other child-serving organizations.
