ORGANIZATION: The Honeycomb Project

We're so glad you found us! The Honeycomb Project is looking for fun and enthusiastic people just like you to help run our volunteer projects for families. Our volunteer team helps us deliver the very best high impact and hands-on volunteer events for youth and their families. Our volunteers are part party hosts, part teachers, and part coordinators. If you love working with kids and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, join the hive!

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Project Leaders in managing Honeycomb's quality volunteer programs
  • Teach, direct and motivate kids and their families
  • Help out with day-of logistics including set-up and break down.
  • Minimum commitment - 1-2 projects/month

Volunteering with Honeycomb is flexible! After attending an orientation and completing a background check, we’ll send you our calendar of upcoming projects. You can sign-up for any available project that meets your interests and schedule (usually 3-4 hours per project on Saturdays or Sundays).

By volunteering with Honeycomb, you'll inspire families to spend quality time together helping others -while learning first-hand about important issues in Chicago’s communities. Honeycomb volunteers are cleaning up Chicago beaches, building nature trails in forest preserves, and distributing food to hundreds of low-income community members. Through these experiences, children learn teamwork, empathy, and leadership - critical skills needed to build a bright future for our city.

If you think you would make a great addition to the Honeycomb team, please apply to volunteer today:
