Make a difference.......share your home with an international exchange student

ORGANIZATION: CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange

CIEE's USA High School students stay with their host family for two semesters while attending a US high school. The cultural exchange between your family and the student will help you both gain a deeper understanding of human values that unite all nations across the world. By having these students live with American families, we break down the barriers that divide people, not only across international borders, but also within our own community. CIEE students have their own funds for school lunches, clothing and personal spending needs as well as medical insurance. Host families get a stipend to offset the cost of hosting. Please contact Kathy Thomson at kthomson@ciee.org and make a difference in our world. Some host families have children living at home, some do not. Some are retired, while others are single parents.

Currently we have one student looking for a warm and caring host family in the Lincoln HS area of Tacoma.

Bianca is a 16-year-old FEMALE from Brazil. My favorite things to do is spending time with my family and friends, listening to music and traveling. I spend a lot of time in school so I’m practically all the time with my friends and as I’m an only child I kind of like it in that way. I like to explore different art forms like music, dance, visual arts and cinematography. So I like to go to the cinema or the theater whenever is possible. I don’t play any instrument but I would like to learn how to play piano and I’m not really a sports person but I enjoy watching sports games. One of my biggest dreams is to travel around the world getting to know different places, cultures and languages. I’ve already been to Chile, Peru England, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany and some United States cities. Books and Netflix’s series and movies are my pastime.
