Roll up your sleeves! Our House Helpers program allows groups of coworkers, friends, and families to spend time together helping make our "home away from home" welcoming, clean and safe for all who come to
live here.

From glitter in the playroom to items in the pantry, help make caring for critically ill children just a
little bit easier for our guest families by showing some care for our house. There are numerous group
activities, times and dates to choose from, and we'll help you find the right ones for your group.
Everything you clean, paint, restock, or repair will give our guest families more precious time together.
Your group will have some too!
- We welcome groups of up to 15 adults (age 18+)
- Opportunities are offered:
- 7 days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Necessary supplies will be provided by the House.
- An RMHC Dayton staff member will be your host
- Tours will be provided during your visit.

Description
RMHC Dayton is a home-away-from-home for families of critically ill or injured, hospitalized children. We exist to serve and sustain families when serious illness or injury strike the most cherished part of their lives, their children.
The House provides a safe and comforting temporary residence near local hospitals so families can stay together. The House is a place where they can eat a home-cooked meal, take a shower, do laundry, or rest in their private guest room; and all of these essential amenities are available just minutes away from their child's bedside.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is a place of respite right there within the hospital, where families with in-patient children can grab a cup of coffee, shower, do laundry, eat and rest just steps away from their child's bedside. Currently, RMHC Dayton has one Family Room program within Dayton Children's Hospital.
Annually, the Ronald McDonald House of the Miami Valley serves families from approximately 30 Ohio counties, 10 other states, and occasionally other countries.We have been serving families in our region since 1980. We partner with all local hospitals that serve pediatric patients. The Ronald McDonald House serves an average of 500 families a year. In 2015, we served 356 families. In 2016, with the opening of the new Ronald McDonald Family Room, we have served 2,900 families.
The average stay for House guests is 12 nights. A family's stay can range anywhere from one night to 90 days. There is no maximum stay.
