Think of all the housekeeping chores necessary to keep your own home neat and clean . . . and now think of the needs of a home our size! It takes a lot of hands to make sure our House is as warm, clean and welcoming as we need it to be for our guest families. Homemakers focus their efforts on our common areas and hallways and make our House comfortable and clean every day.
Qualifications
* Basic housekeeping knowledge and/or willingness to learn
Competencies
* Able to read and follow simple directions
* Ability to deal with the public in a helpful and supportive manner
* Ability to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 30 pounds
* Ability to organize and prioritize
* Ability to work independently and as a team member while able to accept direction
Duties and Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitize common areas of the House
* Other duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty
* Perform daily kitchen chores
* Help keep all cabinets organized and clean
* Maintain first in/first out rotation of leftovers
* Stock takeaway bags and ensure neatness of "freebie" table
Hours
Minimum 2 3-hour shifts per month.
Shifts available 8am-8pm, 7days/week

Description
RMHC Dayton is a home-away-from-home for families of critically ill or injured, hospitalized children. We exist to serve and sustain families when serious illness or injury strike the most cherished part of their lives, their children.
The House provides a safe and comforting temporary residence near local hospitals so families can stay together. The House is a place where they can eat a home-cooked meal, take a shower, do laundry, or rest in their private guest room; and all of these essential amenities are available just minutes away from their child's bedside.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is a place of respite right there within the hospital, where families with in-patient children can grab a cup of coffee, shower, do laundry, eat and rest just steps away from their child's bedside. Currently, RMHC Dayton has one Family Room program within Dayton Children's Hospital.
Annually, the Ronald McDonald House of the Miami Valley serves families from approximately 30 Ohio counties, 10 other states, and occasionally other countries.We have been serving families in our region since 1980. We partner with all local hospitals that serve pediatric patients. The Ronald McDonald House serves an average of 500 families a year. In 2015, we served 356 families. In 2016, with the opening of the new Ronald McDonald Family Room, we have served 2,900 families.
The average stay for House guests is 12 nights. A family's stay can range anywhere from one night to 90 days. There is no maximum stay.
