Program Overview:

English for Advancement is a new program that provides vocational English classes and career counseling services to English language learners in gateway communities such as Boston, East Boston, Lynn, Lawrence, and Lowell. • Engage with small businesses and non-profit organizations to distribute flyers and build relationships for other potential outreach opportunities
  • Attend community events such as coalition meetings, festivals, and fairs to represent the EFA program
  • Field interest calls from potential students and contribute to a follow-up system
  • Research additional strategies and review current outreach efforts

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong desire to connect English language learners with resources and services to advance their careers and communication skills
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
  • Comfortable in communities where English is not the predominant language.
  • Experience working with people of various cultural, religious, & ethnic backgrounds.
  • Must have the ability to work under limited supervision and complete projects in a timely fashion.
  • Flexibility-responsibilities will vary on a day-to-day or weekly basis.
