Position Summary: Monitors data management procedures and facilitates GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliance

Qualification Required :

• Experience in data protection and legal compliance (work experience is preferable)
• Solid knowledge of GDPR and EU data protection laws
• Knowledge of data processing operations in organization sector.
• Familiarity with computer security systems
• Possessing high integrity to handle confidential information
• Strong ethics, with the ability to remain impartial and report all noncompliance

Essential Responsibilities :

• Identify and evaluate data processing activities in the organization
• Provide advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Arrange for training on GDPR compliance for volunteers
• Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the organization
• Maintain records of processing operations
• Write and update detailed guides on data protection policies
• Perform audits and determine whether the organization needs to alter existing procedures to comply with regulations
• Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels
• Offer consultation on how to deal with privacy breaches
• Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance
• Ensure to address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes (e.g. delete their information from database)
• Act as point of contact with EU residents, supervisory authorities and internal teams

Other Requirements :

• Accessibility to Computer/Laptop, Good network internet connection and familiarity with social media platforms in specific WhatsApp and Skype
• Must be an excellent communicator with ability to work in a virtual setting
• Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Must have passion for building and growing relationships
• High professional standards, including integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
