Peace Cafe is three (3) things: 1) a breakfast and lunch cafe in the Clifton area (near the UC campus), 2) it is a job training and placement module that serves the homeless and poor with job skills and job placements (we've partnered with Jobs Plus in this effort) and, 3) it is a church start with Bible study & worship after hours and on Sunday.
The Peace Cafe is an eating establishment focusing on healthy, nutritious menu and, at the same time, providing an affordable breakfast & lunch menu to the Clifton area.
In addition, Peace Cafe will intentionally serve and lift up the working poor and homeless community in Clifton and Cincinnati by training them to work in the cafe. We will do this as an educational program that will use a stipend model rather than an a hourly wage. The goal of the educational program is to train the participants with both job and life skills so that they will be employed in a restaurant or the food industry after completing the program with Peace Cafe.
We are looking for volunteers with restaurant experience to work at Peace Cafe for One (1) or Two (2) days a week to help with our vision / mission of helping others.You would volunteer to be either in the "Back of the House" (that is cooking) or to volunteer in the "Front of the House" that is, working / serving customers.
The hours of Peace Cafe is from 6:30am to 2:30pm Mondays through Saturdays (we are closed on Sundays).

PRINCE OF PEACE OVERVIEWPrince of Peace serves the homeless and working poor in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. We are a cold shelter in the winter months allowing the homeless to sleep in our church. We serve several meals to the homeless each week including breakfasts on Sunday and Tuesday, a Wed. evening meal, lunch three days a week, and a lunch for Kid's Church on Sundays. The Bridge Ministry, which serves the homeless occurs on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10am to 2pm. and offers a Bible Study with a free lunch all three days. We also have a devotion service Wednesday nights with a free community meal on Wednesday evening. We have an Adult Literacy Class, a Kid's Church, a Kid's Tutoring program, and a mentoring program for those that would like to transform their lives.
