ORGANIZATION: Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation

Owl Howl is one event in our Nights at the Museum Series. This festival is free and open to the public. We provide festival attendee's a light dinner and take home interactive themed crafts. The Raptor Institute will present with their live animal ambassadors. We need your help in making this festival run smoothly and ultimately successful. Duties would include set up, tear down, craft assistance with children and families, food distribution, managing parking lot traffic and more. Must be able and willing to communicate with families and children.

Mission Statement

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation (AHLF) was established as a non-profit corporation in 1990 to conserve, restore and enhance the environmental features of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, marsh, wetlands, and watershed areas. The AHLF operates the lovely Lagoon Discovery Center at 1580 Cannon Road in Carlsbad, where they holds numerous environmental educational programming every year.

Description

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation's objective is to:

-Advocate for the lagoon, promoting and assuring future lagoon vitality

-Promote balanced recreational and commercial uses of the lagoon and wetlands

-Provide strong support for public access, trails and recreational opportunities

-Develop and promote, through The Lagoon Discovery Center, educational programs to enhance community and visitor awareness and understanding of water resource and watershed-related environmental issues.
