Dog walkers are responsible for exercising and playing with the dogs. Walks and playtime usually run in half hour to 1 hour increments. Dog walkers are responsible for making sure dogs have water and also cleaning up after them while outside.

Hours for walkers are Monday - Friday 10:00- 5:00
Saturday 9:00- 3:00

All volunteers must be at least 18+ and are required to meet minimum commitment of 4 hours per month

Description

Broken Arrow Animal Shelter volunteers assist Animal Services personnel with daily operations and with special events. Duties may include, but are not required:

  • Feeding, walking, socializing, bathing and grooming the animals
  • Assisting citizens with information on animals ready for adoption
  • Cleaning the animals’ cages and/or kennels
  • Cleaning and organizing the food storage area
  • Sweeping/ cleaning cat room, work room and back hallway floors
  • Working at and assisting with off-site adoptions and other special events.
