YMCA Texas Youth and Government is a civics education program looking for volunteers with an interest in law and youth leadership. Volunteers will use our provided rubric and score sheet to evaluate students’ performances as judges, witnesses, and attorneys in our mock trial and appeals courts.
We need volunteers for our Austin District Conference taking place November 10, 2018 at Jack C. Hays High School. Volunteer shifts are generally available in the morning or afternoon from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. We also welcome volunteers who would like to spend their full day with us and thank them with free lunch!
We will ask volunteers to complete a one-hour webinar training to get familiar with the case for the year and our scoring system before the District Conference. Thank you!
