YMCA Texas Youth and Government is a civics education program looking for volunteers with an interest in law and youth leadership. Volunteers will use our provided rubric and score sheet to evaluate students’ performances as judges, witnesses, and attorneys in our mock trial and appeals courts.
We need volunteers for our State Conference taking place January 25-26, 2019 at downtown locations like the Texas Supreme Court. Volunteer shifts generally last three to five hours and are available in the morning or afternoon. We also welcome volunteers who would like to spend their full day with us and thank them with free lunch!
We will ask volunteers to complete a one-hour webinar training to get familiar with the case for the year and our scoring system before the State Conference. To sign up to volunteer, please fill out our volunteer form at https://www.tfaforms.com/4687778 and select "Trial Court" or "Appeals Court" as your Section Preference. Thank you!
