Nestled in the verdant atlantic forest high in the mountain in Brazil, Eco Caminhos farm is pursuing a more sustainable future through agroforestry and bioconstruction. We invite volunteers to participate in either one or both of these areas! Through agroforestry we cultivate abundant organic produce while taking care of the land. Currently we are focusing on incorporating shade grown coffee into our agroforestry systems. We also have completed several bioconstruction homes which make use of natural resources and work in harmony with natural systems to produce energy and manage waste. We are currently working on a bioconstruction project which will house a permaculture school on our farm.

In addition to participating in these projects, volunteers get a chance to experience the breathtaking Atlantic forest and participate in outdoor activities like hiking and swimming in waterfalls. You'll also have the opportunity to learn Portuguese, experience Brazilian culture, acquire new cooking skills, and make friends from all over the world. Right now we are looking for volunteers who can come from 1-12 weeks. You can access more information about our volunteer program on our website. https://ecocaminhos.com/short-term-volunteering/

Mission Statement

Eco Caminhos wants to become a role model in Brazil and beyond when it comes to social development and sustainable farming, building and living. Our goal is to live in harmony with nature and produce our own food and energy, while the land grows in richness, productivity, and aesthetic beauty. We treat our own waste, generate our own energy and train underprivileged youth. We welcome tourists to experience this lifestyle, offering a wide variety of eco sports and workshops. In the near future our guests will be accommodated in Eco Lodges and offered locally cultivated organic food.
