Make a difference in the lives of girls in our community!
You have a tremendous opportunity to help girls understand the true inner power they possess; to serve as the critical 'fuel’ that propels them forward in life. As a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run, you can unleash the strength, bravery, and limitless potential of girls right here in our community.

What is Girls on the Run?
The Girls on the Run after school program centers around fun and accessible physical activity, ensuring we are strengthening physical as well as emotional health for girls in grades 3-8. Physical isolation and related stressors have undoubtedly affected girls in our community. With the help of coach volunteers, we explore physical activity as we support girls in:
- identifying and processing their emotions
- standing up for themselves and others
- building confidence and resiliency
Not a runner? Not a problem! Girls on the Run coaches are as unique as the girls they serve. Just like the girls, many are not runners. They are people just like YOU who take great pride and care in role modeling character, connectedness, and inner strength.
Girls on the Run coaches are truly a reflection of the girls we serve here in our community. By being themselves, they prove that one person can really make a difference. And they have a lot of fun too!
Through a thorough training course, volunteers will prepare to work with other coaches to lead a small group of girls in developing important life skills and healthy habits. Teams will meet after school, twice a week during September-November for the fun and interactive lessons.
There are girls waiting to participate in Girls on the Run here in our community this spring. They need you! We need you!

Mission Statement
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
Description
At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula that includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k event
We believe that every girl is inherently full of power and potential. By knowing they are the leaders of their lives, these are the girls who will change the world.
