ORGANIZATION: Soldiers' Angels - Buffalo NY

Provides information in person or on the telephone in response to inquiries concerning the identification,

location, and general responsibilities of organization. Receives telephone calls from individuals who

frequently do not know the medical facility organization nor the person with whom they need to speak.

Routes such calls to the appropriate office or employee. Notifies employees to pick-up telephone messages held by the receptionist.

Assists visitors or patients with wheelchair requests and/or escort request to appointments or clinics. Issues and documents issuance of wheelchairs to Veterans and visitors for temporary use. Restocks wheelchairs at end of day and maintains safe egress.

Works with all customers in determining the need, question or concern; and responds to questions, provides information (when appropriate to do so) and gives guidance. Serves as an "identifier" and "facilitator" in that this individual will not be involved in resolution of difficult situations, but will be able to determine potential opportunities for improvement and provide the information to the appropriate person/section. Assists the distribution of information/education regarding various VA programs like My HealtheVet, VLER, recreation programs, and VIP visits and Program. Also assists Veterans in utilization of kiosks for patient check-in, updating patient information, and similar use.
