Empowering kids with math!
This Prof. of Math Dr. Alavaro Arias from University of Denver introducing math learning tools

With COVID and remote learning those kids who are in disadvantaged communities experience even more troubles with succeeding in learning and most likely fail in math. During these unprecedented times and going through financial hardships a lot of Parents do not have funds to get kids the tools and help needed. This is where Math Matters comes in to help.

4 out of 5 kids enter kindergarten unprepared for the curriculum. Low & Moderate income families are on average 3 years behind their well funded peers in mathematics.

  • Children that start behind in mathematics tend to stay behind.
  • Mathematics builds upon itself. When a child does not understand the concepts they take to memorization strategies
  • Memorization strategies fail when children get to algebra.
  • Math scores consistently predict high school graduation rates
Our goal is to get to every family which struggles to help their kids be successful in Math despite all reasons. We want our future workforce to be empowered with Math! We believe that not one child should give up their dream to proceed a career in a field where math is a strong requirement. We believe in fighting math anxiety! We believe on our childrens' future!

We are looking to hire 1 intern to help us with fundraising and applying for grants.

We offer:
- an opportunity to work remotely

- flexible schedule 5-15 hours/week
- there are a 3-months and a 6-months internships available
