Bereavement Volunteer Wanted!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Cima Hospice: Part of the Elara Caring Network

Most people are familiar with hospice for the palliative care we give to our patients when they reach the end of their life. One thing a lot of people don't realize we have a whole bereavement department dedicated to keeping in touch with the families of people who have passed away.

We are in need of someone who has some past experience with the loss of a loved one, who is willing to call, and/or visit with family members after their family member has died. A lot of times, these family members just want someone who has an understanding of what they are going through to come and talk with them.

Whether it be to ask for advice on how to deal with grief, or just share stories. If you are someone who is very open and looking to help someone out that is going through a rough time please let me know. We would love to have you, and I know families would love to meet with you.

Please Contact Anika Lee for more details on this volunteer opportunity or how to get started.

About Cima Hospice: Part of the Elara Caring Network

Location:

12400 Network Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78249, US

Mission Statement

Cima Hospice enables people to live fully and comfortably, while coping with a terminal illness through a holistic, interdisciplinary team approach, that also supports the family and develops an informed caring community.

Description

Cima Hospice was founded in 2006 by two Texas entrepreneurs. Since then, it has grown to 10 agencies providing compassionate end-of-life care serving Texas in San Antonio, New Braunfels/Seguin/San Marcos, McAllen/Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, Tyler/Longview, Texarkana, Houston, and Corpus Christi and serving Oklahoma in Sallisaw, Poteau, Muskogee, Tulsa, and Pryor.

In October of 2011, Jordan Health Services and Cima Hospice came together to provide a continuum of quality home care by combining their home health services, community/provider services and hospice services. This coming together created 40 locations serving close to 15,000 patient/clients daily throughout the state of Texas and Arkansas.

In October of 2013, Jordan and Cima joined forces with Healthcare Innovations Private Services, the largest provider of Medicaid home health services in the state of Oklahoma including three additional hospice locations in Sallisaw, Poteau and Muskogee. Jordan acquired PrimeCare Home Health, a leading home health services provider based in Louisiana with locations in Hammond, Baton Rouge, Monroe, Ruston, and Columbia, in December of 2014.

Together companies each day will fulfill the personal care, case management, skilled nursing, pediatric, and hospice needs of approximately 26,000 patients in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
