If you could help comfort a broken heart with a needle and thread, would you? Compassus Hospice is in need of crafty individuals who are interested in creating quilts for our patients. Each patient on our Hospice service is provided a blanket from Compassus.
We would also like to introduce a new quilt for our Vets that looks like a US Flag. This will be presented to the patient during a pinning ceremony. Pinning ceremonies are one last final tribute that Compassus provides to acknowledge the service and sacrifices the Veteran has made to our country, and their family. This quilt can also be hung as a tapestry, which means this quilt does not require backing or a filling material that might be found in a typical quilt. Because this is a new idea, there are no particular requirements for the size of the quilt. Although I have a rough idea it would be about 40" x 60". Fabric or Supplies are not offered at this time.
Whether you sew, quilt, or just want to help out, we invite you to come join this new and rewarding Volunteer Opportunity!
Sewing can be done at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home and using your own sewing machine. This is a perfect way to make a huge difference in your community without ever leaving your own home.
