The Finance/Accounting Intern will assist the CFVC with a wide range of projects related to expense report auditing, account reconciliation, revenue processing, and grant accounting. The CFVC Director will mentor the intern. The Director will help the intern prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Interns will work between 10-20 hours a week during the regular school semester. Summer interns will work 20-30 hours per week. Responsibilities -Assists with budget and forecasting processes and analysis
-Compiles and analyzes financial information
-Prepares Excel and PowerPoint reports and presentations
-Prepares and records accounting and financial transactions
-Prepares detailed monthly account analysis and journal entries
-Assists in monthly financial statement closings
-Performs account reconciliations
-Conducts audit work (reviews transactions and source documents analyzes internal controls)
-Assists with and supports special projects as need Requirements Education and Work Experience
Enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university majoring in finance, accounting, economics, business or other related program.
Prior relevant experience is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position..

Essential Technical/Motor Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficient in Excel)
Ability to make phone calls
knowledge in Quickbooks required

Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to negotiate contracts and represent the organization to groups of people.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Individual should be able to stand for several hours, walk, or run with children, lift 20 pounds, be able to be outside for events.

Essential Sensory Requirements:
Individual should be able to see, hear and speak in order to represent the organization at large public functions for recruiting and coordination.

Essential Mental Abilities:
Should be open minded and accepting of all people, especially of children.

Other Requirements:
Weekend work may be required. Dependable transportation is a must. The individual should be creative and an independent worker. Be able to stretch a dollar to accomplish a program. The ability to give and receive feedback in a professional manner is expected.
