Camp Kesem at UW-Madison is looking for a nurse and/or Mental Health Professional to join their summer camp team! Our chapter, one of 105 Camp Kesem chapters across the United States, offers a free week-long camp for kids affected by their parent’s cancer. Camp is free to attend, and the camp is planned, managed, and staffed by college student volunteers from UW-Madison.
As a nurse, you will be responsible for dispensing daily medication, as instructed by each camper's physician, and for addressing any health emergencies that may come up over the course of the week. You must hold an RN, LPN/LVN, or be a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Wisconsin, or be willing to obtain a temporary license for that state.
As a mental health professional, you will be responsible for counseling campers and counselors on various issues. Some of these issues are behavioral but others may tie to home situations or bereavement. You must have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, School Counseling, or a related Mental Health field.
