The Village VISTA Collaborative, a new Americorps VISTA project sponsored by the Village for Children and Families in Hartford, Connecticut, will place VISTAs in three assignments to address financial literacy and grow the capacity of several programs of the Village. The VISTA member will help to build capacities that connect two family-centered Village programs, our Financial Center and Family Center. To meet this goal, the VISTA will develop strong care coordination systems across service structures, market services to reach a wider audience, cross-train staff to navigate participants through the full array of services and collect and monitor data for continuous quality improvement. In collaboration with internal staff and external partners, the VISTA will also be developing a system for collecting client feedback following completion of the program and presenting recommendations based on analysis. The VISTA should demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and maintain collaborative, professional relationships; have background knowledge/experience with finance and/or tax preparation; and have volunteer or other recruitment and retention experience.
