Volunteers will work under the direction of the Financial Assistance Director in helping clients in our area (40272, 40258, Jefferson County portion of 40177) receive emergency financial assistance for utilities and rent. We are open Monday- Friday 1pm-4pm for financial assistance.

Volunteers are needed to take voicemail messages, return client phone calls, and make financial assistance appointments. Calls must also be made to LG&E, Louisville Water Company, and landlords to determine the client’s eligibility for assistance and/or make pledges on the client’s account.

Volunteers are are needed to interview in person clients that have a financial assistance appointment. Clients will be asked to provide information and documents as required by SWCM. Volunteers will fill out all necessary paperwork. Copies of certain documents must be made and put in client’s file. Approval for assistance is determined by the Financial Assistance Director.
