Special Planting Day in the Gardens!
ORGANIZATION: Massachusetts Horticultural Society
Please visit the new page to apply.
All hands on deck! Volunteers are needed to plant our Trial Garden and formal Italianate Garden and get them ready for the season!
Mass Hort's Trial Garden tests new and unreleased varieties competing for All-America Selections awards, displays previous winners, and grows hundreds of cultivars submitted for evaluation by commercial plant breeders. Our Italianate Garden is a rare treat for garden aficionados. Designed by the Olmsted Brothers between 1914 and 1928, it is one of just two Italianate gardens open to the public in Massachusetts.
Learn about plants while helping the oldest horticultural society care for its beautiful gardens! No experience necessary. Our volunteers work with horticulturalists to plant, prune, weed, mulch, rake, and water. Your help is vital to the success of the gardens. It's a fun way to learn through service, to enjoy the outdoors and to care for our environment.
