The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center, also known as the Midland County Child Protection Council, is a local non-profit agency with the mission to prevent child abuse and neglect and improve the quality of life for children and families. Operating since 1979, Safe and Sound has been working to fulfill this mission with intervention and prevention programs. This agency is governed by a dedicated board of directors who also sit as chairs of a diverse number of committees dedicated to helping Safe and Sound achieve its goals and function.
