Calling all adults or high school/college students with an interest in citizen science! Go to http://bit.ly/2FNuVta for details and to sign up for a team! When: Saturday, June 2, 2018 Teams will have designated times. Individuals can post any time on this date. What: An event to find and identify as many species of plants and animals in Reston in 24-hour time period Where: Reston Wide Teams will be sent to designated natural areas. Individuals can report species anywhere in Reston, even your own backyard! Download the iNaturalist app and join the Reston BioBlitz 2018 project at www.inaturalist.org/projects/ reston-bioblitz-2018 . Who: Scientists, naturalists and volunteers at expert and beginner levels Adults and students in high school/college can participate in this citizen science challenge. An orientation and training will be provided. Teams will need:
- a subject matter expert to take the lead on species identification
- an experienced iNaturalist app user
- a shutterbug to capture digital photographs (cell phone or DSLR)
- locals, spotters and recorders who have familiarity with Reston's natural areas and trails
