Mission Statement

The mission of Common Fence Music is to celebrate and preserve diverse folk music traditions by creating community-based opportunities for cultural exchange.

Description

Common Fence Music, now entering its 26 th season, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to bringing high-caliber folk, roots and world music performances and educational opportunities to Rhode Island's Aquidneck Island and East Bay community. Since its inception in 1993, the organization has presented hundreds of nationally and internationally-acclaimed artists at the Common Fence Point Hall in Portsmouth, RI. Starting the 2017-2018 concert season, we have expanded into two new venues, at Hope & Main in Warren, RI and the Casino Theatre in Newport, RI.
