Volunteers
When you volunteer you meet amazing people who share your passion for giving back to the community

Meals on Wheels (provided by The Health Trust) delivers free monthly pet food to clients receiving Meals on Wheels. Pets help keep our clients company and are a part of their family, so we try to make sure they are well-fed!

We are in need of 4 volunteers to deliver pet food to clients each month. Each person will deliver food to about 10 clients, using their own vehicle. Deliveries take about 4 hours, one day a month. A background check and clear TB test are required. We would like a commitment of 4-6 months, as volunteers build relationships with clients as well.

Volunteers also must meet with program staff quarterly (every 3 months).

Please contact Mayra Catalán, Community Partnerships Supervisor, if interested, at: Volunteers@healthtrust.org.

Mission Statement

Our Mission: To build health equity in the Silicon Valley.

Description

Our Vision:

The Health Trust believes every Silicon Valley resident should have the opportunity to live a healthy life.

How:

We at The Health Trust believe that if Silicon Valley is a community where innovation is changing the world, then it also can be a community where innovation changes the lives of everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents - for the better.

As we strive to make our vision reality, we reflect the values of Silicon Valley. When we tackle a problem, we take the broad view. We rely on expertise, partnerships and best practices to generate solutions that will have the greatest impact on those we serve. We invest in projects that are sustainable, show measurable results and provide the greatest return on investment for the community.

With a strong emphasis on prevention, we focus our work through three initiatives: Healthy Living, Healthy Aging and Healthy Communities. Through direct services, we are helping one person at a time. And through policy advocacy and grantmaking, we are changing the local environment to promote healthy eating, healthy aging and healthy living.
