World Refugee Day Eve Vigil

Volunteers needed from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm

Actual event from 7:00pm-8:30pm

Belong Church and Lutheran Family Services are holding a candlelight vigil to welcome and show solidarity with refugees in our Colorado community, as well as those who are not able to resettle or are awaiting resettlement.

Please join us! You can make a difference and support refugees this World Refugee Day by volunteering and helping us to host a vigil.

Let us all join together hand in hand to offer support to refugees.

Kids are welcome to be a part of this event!

We Need Volunteers for:

Pre-Production:

  • Promo: Getting the event listed on all available free event calendars, submitting press releases to all appropriate media outlets, spreading the word on Facebook and with personal networks.

Production Staff:

  • Usher: Encouraging guests to fill in the front rows first, guiding guests to the bathrooms as needed.
  • Greeter: Handing out programs and welcoming guests inside the space.
  • Ticket Scanner: Using Eventbrite Organizer app, scanning tickets to ensure guests with reserved seats are admitted first.
  • Lobby Tidier: Keeping coffee/tea area stocked and neat, changing trash/recycling, keeping activity and signup sheets tidy.
  • Candle Distributor: Handing out candles during the transition to contemplative piece. Can be ticket scanners and ushers/greeters.
  • Talent Hospitality: Ensuring all speakers are briefed on the order of production, are made comfortable, are shown where to sit, and are ready to go during their part.

Technical Staff:

  • Videographer: Capturing high quality video recording of the event
  • Photographer: Capturing high quality photographs of the event.
  • Lighting Manager: Hitting lighting cues for house lights and spotlights. Not highly technical but highly attention driven.

Post Production:

  • Quilt maker: Sewing together the pieces of the Love Affirmation Welcome Action Quilt.
  • Video Editor: Quickly editing the pieces created by videographers, photographers, audio engineer and pre-created video to create one final "product" video of the event.

Donations:

  • Bagged Herbal Tea (24 hrs prior)
  • Cookies (24 hrs prior)
  • Fruit (24 hrs prior)
  • Fabric Pieces or Similar (One week Out)
  • Fabric Markers (One week Out)
