A small, local non-profit is seeking professional individuals with strong verbal communication skills, attention to details, and organizational skills to help in several aspects of a corporate awards luncheon. The event will be held on Friday, June 8th from 10 am - 2 pm in Gaithersburg, MD. Volunteers will be expected to arrive by 7:30 am to help set-up.

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

  • Technical: A volunteer is needed with experience in PowerPoint to handle behind the scenes at the event (i.e. the award presentation). Must be comfortable following a script while controlling the event PowerPoint and must work well under pressure. Technical/Computer skills, specifically in PowerPoint, is a must!
  • Registration: Three volunteers are needed to manage the event's registration tables. All volunteers must have exceptional communication skills, are able to work very well under pressure, and have great people skills. Volunteers will greet all event attendees, share basic event information with each guest, provide them with a name badge, and direct them to the appropriate area. This can be a fast-paced environment, as registration can get busy.
  • Photographer: One volunteer is needed to assist our event photographer. Such duties include managing scheduled appointments with walk-in requests, retrieving/returning trophies for each group, etc. This volunteer should have great people skills, enjoy interacting with business professionals, and able to multi-task well. This can also be fast-paced - must work well under pressure!
  • Miscellaneous: Additional volunteers are needed at the event for miscellaneous tasks such as set-up, clean-up, etc. Volunteers must have strong communication skills, multi-tasking skills, and people skills. Organizational skills are a plus!

The event is expected to have approximately 200 guests. All volunteers should work well under pressure and have superior professionalism at all times. A plated lunch will be provided to all volunteers.

**Those with a passion for workplace best practices, human resources, health & wellness, employee benefits, environmental sustainability, diversity & inclusion, etc. may have particular interest in this event. The awards will highlight 46 exceptional employers who have demonstrated commitment to creating excellence in their workplace, many of which are located in Montgomery County, MD.

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to working with you!
