The Altadena Library is hosting Repair Cafe on May 26, 2018.
Repair Cafe is a meeting in which people repair household electrical and mechanical devices, computers, bicycles, clothing, etc. They are organized by and for local residents. Repair caf?s are held at a location where tools are available and where they can fix their broken goods with the help of volunteers. Its objectives are to reduce waste, to maintain repair skills and to strengthen social cohesion.
This community event happens with the help of many levels of skill. Repair Cafe is looking for volunteers who can help set up and keep things flowing. All levels of skill are welcome but no repair skills are needed. Just your energy and enthusiasm! This is a great way to get to know new friends, get service hours taken care of, get college reference letters, get great experience and help your community!

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
