Teens for bike safety!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Los Angeles Public Library

  • 7 people are interested

We need teens to get involved with a Teens Leading Change project centered on bike safety! We want to support riders through a variety of means, create a bike-friendly and safe neighborhood, and share our passion for biking with the community.

If you are interested in anything related to bikes, safety, or simply supporting your community as a teen volunteer let us know!

Volunteer times will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-6pm.

When you express an interest the YA Librarian from Baldwin Hills will contact you to discuss the information further.

About Los Angeles Public Library

Location:

630 W. 5th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90071, US

Mission Statement

The Los Angeles Public Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books and technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in our city's diverse communities.

Description

The Los Angeles Public Library is largest public research institution west of the Mississippi.

With more than 70 branch libraries and Central Library subject departments serving millions of Angelenos on a yearly basis, our programs are supported by thousands of volunteers in a variety of capacities. Whether providing one on one literacy tutoring, cutting out craft supplies for story time activities, helping serve summer lunch at the library, or serving as a Friend of the Library, all volunteers play a role in the work of LAPL.

If you would like to volunteer, but don't see a listing that matches your interests, please contact your local branch or the Volunteer Engagement Office. Opportunities and needs vary by location and fluctuate throughout the year.

Please note that the minimum age for volunteers is 14 (with the exception of 11-13-year-olds joining Teen Councils), minimum time commitments are required for most opportunities, adult volunteers working with children will be fingerprinted, and LAPL does not accept court-mandated community service.
